The benefits to the child are incredibly diverse but include improved co-ordination, balancing skills, core strength, fitness, proprioception, spatial awareness, and improves confidence. These benefits allow the child to select their preferred form of dance in a safe environment while benefiting them in other sporting activities as well. Props such as scarves, hula hoops, fans, ribbons, poi etc are also included to promote the development!
Our curriculum gives young children the opportunity to be introduced to approximately six different genres per year. The syllabus teaches children to warm- up using Ballet, modern, pilates, body conditioning & proprioception techniques to strengthen & stretch their bodies. Dance styles include the following: Ballet, modern, jazz, african, hip hop, breakdancing basics, freestyle, rock ‘n roll, gymnastics basics, acro & silk/aerial training.
